CHROMEO STROKES
DESIGN CONCEPT
This project orchestrates a conversation between two distant eras—the warmth of modern design and the discipline of mid-century modernism. Rather than choosing one, we composed their coexistence.
Furniture by Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich (1930) meets contemporary pieces by Sarah Ellison (2022), bridging decades through shared proportion and integrity.
Materiality became the rhythm: linen-effect wallpaper and marble architraves echo mid-century tactility, while light beige HDF and stainless steel introduce a contemporary clarity. The pairing of polished metal with brown velvet heightens the tension between futurism and nostalgia.
The result is a spatial symphony—a crescendo of contrasts that finds harmony through balance. True to Candy Clan Studios’ philosophy, design here transcends style to become an experience—structured, alive, and deeply human.
WALKTHROUGH
Entering Chromeo Strokes feels like stepping into a bold, modern artwork. The space unfolds through contrasts—warm vs. intense, soft vs. structured—guiding you intuitively from one visual moment to the next.
The layout leads your eye toward a strong focal wall, where color, reflection, and texture create a sense of movement. Refined lines and sculptural forms shape each zone, while mirrors expand your perspective and give depth to the composition. Seating invites pause and comfort, while sharper contemporary elements add tension and energy.
Every viewpoint is intentional.
Every corner reveals a new stroke of the story.

MATERIAL SELECTION
Chromeo Strokes' is a study of contrast, texture, and rhythm—a space where materials speak in confident strokes, like a bold piece of contemporary art. The palette revolves around the sensual depth of Rosso marble and the refined elegance of Calacatta Viola, framed by crisp clear mirrors that reflect movement and light. Oak wood and HDF flooring ground the space with warmth, while a dark wood TV unit anchors the composition with visual gravity.
Softness meets structure through beige linen fabrics, creating a quiet canvas against the bold gestures of burgundy accent chairs and the glossy burgundy tile artwork—the “strokes” that punctuate the interior with color and emotion. A black leather bench introduces sharp modernity, balancing the tactile comfort of linen with sleek sophistication. Subtle touches of stainless steel weave into the furniture like jewelry—precise, minimal, intentional—reinforcing the project’s contemporary edge.
Together, the materials form a narrative of expressive luxury: raw yet refined, dramatic yet calm. "CHROMEO STROKES" is not just a palette—it is a visual rhythm where every finish is a deliberate stroke of identity, composing a space that is bold, artistic, and unmistakably modern.
FURNITURE DESIGN
In CHROMEO STROKES, furniture is treated as sculptural expression—each piece acting as a deliberate stroke within the composition. Soft, rounded seating balances the architecture’s sharper lines, adding fluidity and emotional softness. Reflective accents and defined forms introduce contrast: light against shadow, softness against precision.
A linear bench with subtle metallic detailing brings rhythm and structure, while a monolithic coffee table anchors the space like a sculptural mass. The sofa remains the calm core— minimal, generous, and quietly grounding.
The focal artwork, “FRAGMENTS OF A DISTANT DREAM” from Undefined Contours by IN MY SOUL, becomes the emotional pulse, echoing movement and layered depth.
Here, furniture is not decoration—
it is curated intention, shaping an atmosphere where form, texture, and contrast define the experience.
